These days, most of what I eat does NOT make it to the blog. Or even to instagram. What I eat day-to-day is rather repetitive – there are only so many pictures of salads with tempeh, the same bowl of oatmeal, or sweet potatoes and eggs I can show you.
Other times, I just can’t be bothered to take a picture – rest assured, this is normal. Not everyone in the world takes pictures of their food!
But then, there are the (hundreds of) pictures that just don’t make it to the blog because they don’t really have a place. They don’t fit with a theme, and I can’t figure out how to stuff them into a post and make it make sense. And there are only so many What I Ate Wednesday posts I can write without getting bored.
Indian food from Whole Foods hot bar (channa masala & veg. biryani = favorite) with a side of… cabbage. Shh – it worked.
collard wraps with hummus (it’s in there!) tomatoes, tempeh “fingers” with BBQ sauce for dipping.
Crunchy red bell peppers, crunchy chili-lime Good Bean chickpea snacks (in love), 1/2 smooth and creamy avocado
carob waffle with cardamom, topped with kiwi and tahini. Must make this again.
Okay, so maybe I lied. THIS definitely deserves its own post. Thanks to really awesome friends, I’ve become obsessed with all things Açaí. I don’t know if I believe in its incredible healing powers, but açaí bowls do taste amazing and make me feel pretty awesome. That’s all I need.
This guy was the amazing green bowl from Juice Generation (which also deserves its own post. someday). But, if you follow me on instagram, you’ll definitely see a few homemade bowls and smoothies popping up!
And apparently I’m on a (dairy-free) ice cream kick. Always eaten with peanut butter (or something similar like sunflower butter). This week, a pint of TJ’s coconut milk ice cream some how landed in my cart. And it’s nearly gone already. Oops.
Are your everyday meals super random? Tell me your favorite odd combo!
Have you ever tried açaí? thoughts?
