Oh Just Some (Foodie) Things

It’s no secret that I’m a consumer – and I love finding new, awesome foodie products! Remember when I used to do this almost weekly? Well, it’s been a while since I’ve shared some of my latest favorite discoveries.  Long overdue!

mochi, without the ice cream!  Fun indeed :-)

so delicious, all puffy, warm and carb-y.

a new sprouted wrap!  I usually buy the Food For Life Brand of sprouted grain or brown rice tortillas, but I decided to try a new brand.  Good, much more pliable and wrap-like, but not as tasty as the FFL ones. I think I’ll stick to my tried and true have.

OMIGOD this stuff is like CRACK! I’m kind of glad it’s only sold at whole foods, as I don’t shop there very often (If I did, I’d be living on the streets!).  I’d be too tempted to buy it, then proceed to eat half a jar in one sitting.  So i’ll stick to the squeeze packs as a special treat now and then.  Seriously, this almond butter tastes like frosting.

I got this for free with a coupon I got in the HLS swag bag – and I don’t think I’d ever buy it otherwise.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s really delicious, dense, hearty bread, but its $5 for a small little loaf, and not nearly as satisfying as a good fluffy piece of toasted Ezekiel bread.  But awesome, for a freebie!

I haven’t had this in years!  My sister and I used to like mixing liquid smoke into our tuna salad lunches years ago – and when I saw this on sale for $1.50, for a bottle that lasts forever and a day, i had to “splurge”.  I’m excited to mix this into lunch salads, and possibly make some vegan fakin’ bacon.

Pure sunflower seed butter!  This brand makes amazing almond and peanut butters, so when I saw the sunflower on sale (gotta love those sales!), I went for it.  I have to admit, it’s not that flavorful on its own – but that’s probably a good thing, it will stop me from eating half the jar with a spoon.  The stuff is fantastic on toast or oats, or with apples or bananas, simple, no added anything.  Just how I like it.

Spicy. Chocolate.  Heaven.  Thatisall.

The indian food kick is going strong!  I wish I had the time and mental energy to make my own dishes, but convenience food will have to suffice for now.  Served over greens, of course!

What? that’s not food… or is it? Candy corn nails! (sort of – yes, I realize I switched the orange and yellow. it was just easier to do, and I don’t really care how it’s supposed to be)

Have you found any new foodie products you love?

I’ve never tried mochi before, but I’m really curious about it! What’s it like?

And that chili chocolate bar looks awesome! I love chocolate with a bit of heat. My mom makes these cookies called Mayan chocolate sparklers that have some cayenne in them and they’re amazing!

Mochi is made of sweet rice flour, so it’s like a denser, unsweetened rice marshmallow. Ha, I’m not really sure how else to describe it! I *love* spiced chocolate cookies – I’ve made Isa Chandra’s mexican hot chocolate snickerdoodles a million times, they’re my favorite.

LOVE that sunflower seed butter – it’s my fave and the best tasting sunflower butter Ive ever had, hands down :)

I’ve always wanted to try mochi!! I need to keep an eye out for it – I bet it’d be amazing topped with that Justin’s vanilla butter.

    Love!

I am crazy jealous that you are able to buy Justin’s vanilla almond butter! It isn’t even sold in Virginia. I’ve never tried mochi before but I’ve heard of it-what would you compare it to? Is is sweet?

I think my favorite foodie find right now is the Thomas pumpkin english muffins. I’ve never had chile chocolate but I love chocolate in general!

I’ve never tried mochi before but would be curious to try it.
My latest foodie discovery (and major splurge 😉 ) was SunWarrior Blend. It’s delicious and a great way to sneak protein into my snacks.

While I enjoy plain dark chocolate most I do like chili in it, too. My favourite chili chocolate is Strawberry-Chili and it truly has a spicy kick to it.
