WIAW – Listening to My Body

Wednesday again!  A little later with my what I ate Wednesday post, but I spent a bit of time fooling around with some graphics – you’ll see later on!  So let’s get right to it – Tuesday’s eats!

Again, I did my best to capture everything, but a few bites here and there escaped the camera, as always.

 I’m loving everything on toast these days, not sure why. Since I have no toaster, I make toast in a dry skillet, and it works like a charm – topped with cocoa protein frosting – 1/2 scoop protein powder, about 1-2T almond milk, 1t nut butter, 1t cocoa powder. Yum.

green drink at work! Sun warrior, kale, cucumber, spirulina, chia, mint, water.  Surprisingly, I didn’t get that many weird looks.

More like italian style! greens, quinoa, soysage, tomato, basil.  With tomato sauce/hummus mix for dipping.  Yes, I made them on rice paper wraps, and yes, it was delicious.  Take that, sandwich wraps!

Then I snacked on an apple, and some almonds to hold me over until I got home.

Then I was still quite hungry, so I snacked on some veggies and hummus while dinner was cooking.  But, then by the time dinner rolled around, I wasn’t all that hungry!

In the past, I would have pushed past it – I would have said I need to eat a normal dinner, and forced it down.  But not this time.  This is me, trying to listen to my body – and body wanted something small and simple.

And then a spoonful of PB later to take hunger-edge off before bed.  I was really proud of myself for really taking the time to think about the hunger cues my body was sending me.  Pat on the back for that one!

Fitness Time! I actually have a little workout to share today, I did it this morning.  I wasn’t really feeling up to getting up early to work out before work, but I know myself – and I know that unless I have a workout class scheduled in the evening, there’s no way I’m going to get that workout in.  Motivation seriously declines as the day goes on.

I was certainly sweaty and out of breath at the end!  It’s super effective as long as you push hard.

I have really been enjoying my home workouts – but I miss lifting heavy! I still feel strong, but a different kind of strong, and I miss the feeling of pure strength exercise – pull ups, squats, deadlifts, etc.  But soon (monday) I’ll have Best Body Bootcamp, which will hopefully kick my butt.  And I can’t wait.

    The tabata workout looks great! I have only really just in tune with my body and understanding what it needs. It’s do hard to really listen to your body but it definitely appreciates it when you do.
